SMHA Minor Midgets 2 and 1 in Busy Four Day Span
Written by Dave Graff.   The SMHA Stratford Motor Product Minor Midgets absorbed just their second loss of the Alliance season on Thursday in Cambridge but sandwiched that loss with a win in London on Wednesday and a home shutout victory over Waterloo on Saturday.

On Saturday five unanswered Warrior goals turned a scoreless affair half way thru into a convincing 5-0 win over the visiting Wolves, the Warriors owning the shot clock by a 39-8 margin. Caleb Musselman opened the scoring burying a rebound off of a Luke Gaylor shot while shorthanded and Gaylor setup Carter Musselman for a late second period tally for a 2-0 cushion at the intermission. Owen Singer converted a Carter Musselman feed in tight early in the third period and Jack Whitehead fired home the last two, one on the power play to close out the scoring. Whitehead added two assists for a four point night while Braydon Tinning, Caleb Musselman, Will Schlotzhauer and Singer had one a piece. Nolan Traynor recorded the shutout in the Warrior goal.

Wednesday in London the Warriors got up 6-3 part way through period three than held on during a frantic finish for a 6-5 win over the Jr Knights Green. Singer lit the lamp twice for Stratford including a power play marker while Gaylor, Tinning, Whitehead and Patrick Holloway scored one each. Caleb Musselman had three assists in the win and chipping in with one each were Gaylor, Owen Duiker, Schlotzhauer, Aiden McMann, Nathan Graff, Singer and Carter Musselman.

Thursday in Cambridge the Warriors fired 29 shots at the Hawk goal but could only get two by the Cambridge tender in a 6-2 defeat to first place Cambridge. Caleb Musselman and Zach Carman had first period goals for Stratford with Gaylor, Tinning, Whitehead and Carter Musselman contributing a helper each.

Stratford currently sits in second place in the AA/A Alliance standings with a 10-2-1 record with four straight road tilts on the horizon before the Christmas break.
