SMHA Stratford Motor Products Minor Midget rep team returned to the ice on
Tuesday after a busy weekend winning silver at the International Silver Stick
tournament and recorded a key 2-1 win over second place Kitchener in Alliance
action moving the Warriors into a second place tie with the Rangers.
Dailey Trainor was called up to man the crease due to vacation and injury to the Warrior regular tenders and calmly steered aside 21 of 22 Ranger shots, a rebound goal part way through period three the only one to get by. Caelan Trupp with a beauty from the point in the first period and Carter Mussleman with a laser top shelf in the second scored for the home side. Luke Gaylor, Jack Whitehead, Will Schlotzhauer and Trupp helped setup the Warrior markers.
With the Warriors having four games remaining before the playoff seedings are determined they realistically can end up anywhere from second to sixth place with only two points separating the five teams entering weekend action.
