The Stratford Atom Rep Warriors, sponsored by Perth Auto Dismantler, played a mid-week game versus the Waterloo Wolves, in Stratford on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.

Stratford and Waterloo faced off at the RBC arena this week. Griffin Harvey started the game with a nice blast from the point. Owen Blackburn showed immediate defensive moves while Caden Ollson, Evan Hughes and Will Pepper put the pressure on Waterloo. Jake Schultz kept the play at the blue line and Piers Murray made a quick shot from the front of the net. Caden Ollson took a final shot at the buzzer but the score remained 0-0 end of the first period.

Cam  Munro battled to the net in the second period and took a shot. It was blocked by Waterloo.
Carter Keating made a save on a Waterloo breakaway. A penalty at 5:25 made Stratford go into Penalty Kill mode for 4 mins. Munroe had another breakaway, while Tye Jackson and Reid Morris laid some fancy stick work. Stratford defencemen Rowan Green and Graedon Smith tussled in front of the net keeping Waterloo at bay.  At 2:40 on a penalty kill, Carter Keating made an impressive leg save, versus a Waterloo player. At 1:39 in the second, Waterloo scored.

Keiran Johnson kept the puck in play during the third. Waterloo's goalie lost their glove and stick, and Stratford tried to get the puck in the net. Nate Van Bakel stick handled and hustled against the boards. Some nice passing by Harvey and Pepper kept Waterloo chasing.
Griffin backhanded a nice shot into the side of the net to secure Stratford's first goal at 12:52.
Waterloo answered back at 9:53 to make the score 2-1.
Stratford used a power play at 6:52 to try to tie up the score. Carter Keating was on fire, making another leg save. Stratford coaches pulled our goalie at 1:16 to try to tie it up. Owen Blackburn shot form the point and it deflected off of Harvey into the net with a few seconds left. Unfortunately, the goal was waved off by the referee for high sticking. The score remained 2-1 Waterloo.

Next game play will be on October 5, against the St.Thomas Stars, at Rotary Complex at 5:15.
Come join us and cheer on the Atom Rep Warriors!
