Major Atom Warriors Silver Stick Wrap-Up
Stratford Atom Rep Warriors, sponsored by Perth Auto Dismantlers, opened their Regional Silverstick 2019 Tournament debut with a game versus the Hamilton Huskies.

The 8:00 am start in Stratford began quickly with an opening goal 2 minutes into the game by Pierce Murray. The Huskies retaliated with a goal seconds later to tie it up. On a quick shot from the point on a faceoff, the Huskies took the lead with another goal with 3 minutes left in the period. With some quick reflexes by Jake Schultz, picking up the puck and back-handing it into the net, it made it 3-2 by the end of the period.
The second period was scoreless with both teams struggling along the boards and in passing to break ahead with the lead.
Quinn Smith made speedy saves and the defence buckled down to hold onto the score.
 In the third period, Caden Ollson took a pass from Cam Munro and buried it into the net to tie it up.  Unfortunately, Hamilton scored to re-gain the lead.  Then, the Huskies secured the game with another one. The final score was 5-3.

Stratford Atom Reps played their second game in Tavistock later Friday morning against, the West Niagra Flying Aces.
Reid Morris, scored first for Stratford.Then the other team replied back with a goal.  Nate Van Bakel took a great pass , broke out and scored. Stratford used a power play to their advantage to gain another point. Then the Aces scored to make it a one goal difference. Another goal by the Aces, with 7 min left, tied it up. Stratford shared the tie.

The Major Atoms rested up and played early Saturday morning at 8 am versus the Scarborough Young Bruins. The Bruins took the lead early and kept Stratford rallying throughout the game. The Bruins took the win, forcing the Major Atoms out of the Semi Finals. 

Next game action is on Saturday, November 9,  at the RBC arena, versus the Burlington Junior Cougars Green. Puck drop is at 5:15.
