The Royal LePage Hiller Realty Stratford Warriors Minor Peewee team opened the season with a tie and a win. The Warriors faced the London Jr. Knights White team on Saturday. Stratford came out with a strong start capitalizing to score two goals in the first period. Goals were scored by Colten Brenzil, assisted by Evan White-Roy, and the second Stratford goal came at the end of the first from Nathan Slaght, unassisted. London turned up their play scoring two goals to even out the game, with a final 2-2 tie. Charlie Holloway, Taten Mikel, Owen Hunt, Cameron Parsons, Mason Bauld and Evan White-Roy all stood strong on defence supporting their goaltenders Ethan Walters and Jake Taylor who both faced a number of shots.
In the second game the Warriors dominated the Burlington Cougars 16-1. The offensive play by the Warriors was no match for the Cougars. The fans were amazed by the incredible passing, deking, backhanded shots and overall play by the Warriors. An honourable mention goes out to Owen Bridges for his four goals and 1 assist in the game. Nathan Slaght, Cole Hishon, Rylan DeBoeck, Brownwyn Langis and Tessa Burdett all added two goals each in the game. Boden Lyons and Ryan Cassone each added a goal. Many players assisted in the goals. The Minor Peewees look forward to a busy week ahead with upcoming games against Cambridge, London and Brantford.
