Warriors Battle Wolves
Last night the was a nail biting game to say the least. Minor Peewee Royal LePage Hiller Reality Warriors battled a tough Waterloo Wolves team. Waterloo scored with 5:31 left in the first period, but that did not stop the Warriors. #15 Colton Brenzil scored on power play, assisted by #11 Nathan Slaght and #5 Owen Bridges, to tie the game 1-1. Waterloo continued to come hard and it cost them with another penalty, which Stratford did not waist! #6 Tessa Burdett scored with a great pass from #9 Rylan DeBoeck and #7 Mason Bauld. The score was now 2-1 ending in the third but Waterloo would answer back.
They continued to come hard and scored early in the third period to even the score to 2-2. Pressure was mounting, and the Warriors answered back with a rocket of a shot by #3 Owen Hunt from the point to go bar down! This could not have been done without the assist from #11 Nathan Slaght who won the face-off and made a quick pass to Owen.
The team work and drive to never give up was amazing, and the whole Stratford crowd was behind their team all the way! #30 Jake Taylor played an amazing game, saving 23 shots on goal. His rebound control was on point and making several key saves to keep his team in the game was inspiring. Waterloo's #31 Goalie could not be forgotten, as he also played a remarkable game saving 22 out of 25 shots on goal.
Warriors now go on the road to St.Thomas for their next game Friday night at 6:15pm.
