Weekend of Hockey against Burlington Cougars Green and Blue.
Stratford Warriors Royal LePage Hiller Realty Minor Peewee Rep team faced off against two Burlington Cougars teams this past weekend.  Our first game was Oct 26, 2019 against Burlington Cougars Green.  Stratford started slow in the first period only having 7 shots on the Burlington goalie, but were able to slip two past him. #10 Ryan Cassone scored with an assist from #17 Charlie Holloway, and #7 Mason Bauld scored with an assist from #5 Owen Bridges on a power play to make it 2-0

The second period did gain some momentum as Stratford had 13 shots on goal.  #11 Nathan Slaght scored early in the second period with an assist from #5 Owen Bridges making it 3-0. The second period did not have another goal till 0:32 left in the period.  #18 Cole Hishon scored with some great team work passing from #9 Rylan DeBoeck and #11 Nathan Slaght making it 4-0.  Third period the Burlington Cougars pushed hard, making 10 shots on #30 Jake Taylor.  Stratford also came back firing hard with 15 shots on goal but unfortunately were not able to capitalize on them.  The game ended on a high note with a win of 4-0!

Second game of the weekend was against the Burlington Cougars Blue.  This was not like the last team we faced. They physically came hard and fast against the Minor Peewee Warriors.  The first period went scoreless till the last 31 seconds, when #2 Jacob Black scored from Burlington Cougars making it 1-0.  Again the pressure continued and Burlington scored again at 5:34 in the second making it 2-0.  Even though we were down, we were not out and #1 Ethan Walters fought hard to give his team enough time to get the goals back.  They did not disappoint and answered back with two goals early in the 3rd period.  First goal was by #11 Nathan Slaght Hunt assisted by #3 Owen Hunt on a power play at 12:11.  The second goal to tie up the game was by #15 Colton Brenzil assisted by #11 Nathan Slaght and #16 Taten Mikel.  The game would end in a 2-2 tie, but some things our boys and girls took away from this game was to never give up!

The Warriors look forward to their Silver Stick Qualifier Nov 1-3.  Come cheer us on!
