Minor Peewee Rep Warriors Celebrate Win as Canada Celebrates Gold!
The
Royal LePage Hiller Realty Minor Peewee Rep Warriors returned to the ice
celebrating their first big win of the 2020 as team Canada placed their gold
medals around their necks. The Warriors
took to the ice with total focus as they met the Burlington Cougars White. Prior to the holiday break the Warrior’s
appeared to be exhausted as they played the Cougars on their home ice in
Burlington ending the game in a tie.
Now refreshed the Warriors came out with a bang. The first period the teams were evenly matched ending the period 0-0. The Warriors were first to get on the board with 25 seconds into the second when Ryan Cassone popped one in, assisted by Cole Hishon. The Cougars scored a goal to tie it up. The Warriors weren’t allowing that to continue. Bronwyn Langis added the second goal with a tip in as she took a pass from Boden Lyons. As the team celebrated the goal an extra roar came across the arena as Canada solidified their Gold at the World Juniors. This unleashed more determination in the Warriors as they added more goals to the board. Rylan DeBoeck added back to back goals one unassisted and the second assisted by Langis. Hishon and Evan White-Roy scored two more unassisted. That ended the second period with the Warriors up 6-1. The third the Warriors played more defensively as the Cougars tried to get back in the game. The Cougars managed to find the back of the net late in the third, and the game ended with the Warriors celebrating their 6-2 win to kick off the New Year!
