Silver Stick Weekend Finals
This past weekend the Royal LePage Hiller Reality traveled to Newmarket were they were asked to take part in the Silver Stick Finals for Minor Peewee AA.  This was a great experience for our boys.  They not only got to play some great teams, but learned some valuable lessons.

Our first game was against Vaughan Rangers, who are ranked #19th in Ontario AA with a record of 24-12-5.  Unfortunately we were not able to secure a win, against them.  Vaughan, was able to come out with the win 3-1, with the final goal being an empty net to seal the deal.  Our only goal was from #9 Rylan DeBoeck with an assist from #7 Mason Bauld.
Next our boys got to play at the gorgeous St. Andrews Collage.  Here they faced Honey Baked from Michigan.  They are ranked 8th in the States, with a record of 26-9-5.  This team was a great challenge for our kids, and although we had some chances, we just could not get past this very skilled team.  Stratford lost 4-1 and again the final goal was an empty net.  Our sole goal was the result of team work.  #2 Boden Lyons was able to score with an assist from #11 Nathan Slaght and #17 Charlie Holloway.  After a re-group, the kids faced Whitby Wildcats. They are ranked 14th in Ontario AA, with a record of 24-8-11.  This game proved to be very challenging for many reasons.  Although we were so very close to a win, there were outside factors that were not in our control.  We unfortunately lost 3-2.  Our two goals were scored by #11 Nathan Slaght, assisted by #15 Colton Brenzil and the other goal was unassisted by #6 Tessa Burdett.
Our last game was played at the Magna Centre against the home town team Newmarket Redman.  This team is ranked 9th in Ontario AA, with a record of 35-9-1.  The first period we were able to hold them off to a 0-0, but unfortunately we would go on to lose 4-1.  Again the sole goal was from #17 Charlie Holloway, assisted by #16 Taten Mikel and #11 Nathan Slaght.

Overall this weekend was a great leaning experiences, with highs and lows, and challenging hockey.
