Dunny's Source for Sport Warriors Dominate
The Stratford Dunny's Source for Sports Warriors Minor Peewee MD team walked away with two lopsided victories, October 12 and 13.
After an extra long bus ride to St. Catherine's to play St. Catharines Hurricanes it took the Warriors a little while to get warmed up but Tayler Cook won the draw to the point and Colston Kibedi opened the scoring with a rocket from the blueline that glanced off the head of a defender and into the top corner with a minute left in the first.

Ten seconds into the second, Liam Benton found the five hole to make it 2-0. Just over a minute later Andrew Davis intercepted in the high slot spun and wired a shot through to put the Warriors up 3-0. A minute later, Henry Flanagan found the short side unassisted. With just over nine minutes to go in the second, Preston Jeffrey made a nifty between the legs pass to Benton out front who then gave the Warriors a five goal cushion. Davis tipped Flanagan's point shot in with the Warriors shorthanded but the Hurricanes got on the board seconds later. Cook found the back of the net to close out the second with assists to Alex Robinson and Blake McIntosh. Robinson added a goal and an assist in the third. Flanagan added his second of the night and Davis picked up two assists as the Warriors won 9-2.
On October 13 the Warriors took on Burlington Bulldogs White. Davis got the Warriors on the board 23 seconds in, ripping a backhander up high. Owen Van Gestel and Cook picked up assists. Thirty seconds later, Davis kept banging away on a loose puck and it paid off, putting the Warriors up by two. Robinson earned an assist. Midway through the first, Benton won the draw and Flanagan's point shot deflected off a defender and in. Benton picked up another assist late in the first after feeding Caellum Parsons. He dished to Van Gestel and he drove down the left side, cut out front and snapped it home for a four goal lead after the first.
Early in the third, Mark Martin cut out front and ripped a shot on net, it was stopped but Cook was there and jammed it home. Kibedi found the top corner midway through the third after the set up by Martin and Andre Lefebvre. Less than a minute later, the Warriors relentless attack paid off again as Benton jammed home the rebound. Cook and McIntosh picked up assists. The Warriors skated to a 7-0 victory. Jake Taylor picked up the shutout.
The Warriors are back in action, October 20 when they host the Woodstock Junior Navy Vets.
