The ‘07 Major Peewee Rep team, sponsored by Scotiabank split the weekend, winning their home opener but dropping one on the road.
Saturday morning the Warriors took on the Brantford 99ers in Stratford. With minutes left in a scoreless first period a sudden loss of power at the Allman had both teams waiting patiently for the hydro to be restored. Eventually, the game got back underway and Stratford went to work. Nathan Siebert showed his persistence jamming one in early in the second, assisted by Colin Schultz and Dawson White. Strong work on the back check from Zach Schultz and Aaron Green kept the visiting team off the board, coupled with big saves from Ryan McGill. Later in the period Grady Murphy chipped one up the boards to Carter Petrie who went bar down giving Stratford the 2-0 win.
Sunday afternoon the boys made the trek to Sarnia to take on the Jr. Sting. Always a good battle with these to teams and this was no exception. Sarnia scored first, early in the second sliding one in past Zack Irvin but minutes later Stratford responded on a power play opportunity with a goal from Grady Murphy, assisted by Carter Petrie. Unfortunately, Sarnia managed to grab another one in the third for the 2-1 win.
