Major Peewee Rep Team Have A Lot To Be Thankful For
The ‘07 Major Peewee Rep team, sponsored by Scotiabank had many reasons to be thankful this weekend including earning four points with two wins on home ice.

Saturday night the Warriors played host to the undefeated St. Thomas Jr Stars.  Always a spirited battle between these two teams; this tilt was no different. Ryan McGill got the call in the cage and he rose to the occasion again and again, constantly tested by the St.Thomas snipers.  After a scoreless first, Stratford finally got on the boards with a goal bar down from Carter Petrie, assisted by Colin Schultz and Ryan Gansevles. St. Thomas found themselves with a turnover opportunity late in the second but McGill come up with a sweet glove save.  The third period saw St. Thomas peppering McGill but he continued to stonewall the opposition. Strong work from defensemen Austin Musselman and Zack Schultz helped hold off the St. Thomas attack. Eventually the Stars slid in a loose puck to tie the game with 6:46 remaining.  But moments later Grady Murphy nabbed the game winner poking in a rebound off a shot from Blair Stokes.

Sunday afternoon the boys skipped the stuffing and headed to the arena early in preparation for their game against the London Jr  Mustangs White. Zack Irvin was on duty between the pipes and held strong with the help of Aaron Green and Rylan Hall for the shut out.  The Warriors took advantage of an early powerplay with Carter Petrie netting one, assisted by Blair Stokes and Colin Schultz. Mid-way through the third Stratford grabbed two quick goals, one from Petrie unassisted, and a backhand shot from Nathan Siebert assisted by Petrie giving Straford a 3-0 lead. Strong forechecking from Ryan McGee, Griffin McGregor and Dawson White helped close the door on the Mustangs.  Petrie nabbed the hattrick off a feed from Blake Hodgson late in third for a decisive 4-0 win.
