The Canadian Tire Major PeeWee MD team had their home-opener on Saturday against the Waterloo Wolves. The first period was a lot of back and forth action with Waterloo striking against the Warriors with the first goal. Trying to gain a deeper lead, Waterloo continued to fire shots and made good passes keeping the Warriors on the move.
The 2nd period saw the referees earning their keep with a few penalties being called, but the penalty killing abilities of the Warriors and controlled goal-tending assisted in keeping further goals for Waterloo at bay.
By the 3rd period, the Major Peewee MD Warriors - veterans and rookies - worked together making passes, smart plays and an aggressive defence assisted the forwards in burying the puck in the net.
In an exciting turn of events, with Waterloo trailing by one goal, pulled their goalie pushing hard to tie up the game in the final few minutes.
The Canadian Tire Major Peewee MD team worked hard and diligently, scoring on the empty net, finishing their home opener with a 5-3 win.
Great start to the season boys!
