Couple of Close Ones

Friday night the Stratford Cherrey Bus Lines Minor Bantam Rep team travelled to Hamilton to take on the Huskies.  Dylan Fischer opened the scoring in the first period and Jericho McNichol made it 2-0 in the second period, but Hamilton would score at the end of the second period to make it 2-1 and then tie it up early in the third.  With Stratford short handed near the end of the third, Hamilton got the winning goal to end the game 3-2.  Assists on goals; Mark Pyzowski

Sunday at the Duff the Kitchener Rangers visited the Warriors.  Mark Pyzowski quickly got the first goal of the game to get the Warriors rolling but when Stratford was short handed Kitchener tied it up.  The Rangers would score a go-ahead goal, but Ben Fizell responded with a goal to tie it and Owen Gaylor would get Stratford's go-ahead goal to end the period 3-2 for Stratford.  The Warriors and Rangers battled back and forth for the second period but neither goalie would let anything by them.  The third period started with Kitchener scoring two goals and Ben Fizell would net his second of the game to tie it up.  Despite great effort from Stratford's bench, the Warriors fell to the Rangers 5-4.  Assists on goals; Nathan Gibb

Next weekend the Stratford Warriors will take part in the Waterloo Memorial Tournament where they are scheduled to play Vaughn, Windsor, Mississauga and Lasalle teams.
