On Saturday Nov 30th Stratford’s Minor Bantam team headed down the 403 to face the Brantford team. A fast paced game between the Warriors and 99ers provided a great game for the spectators. Brantford netted the first goal
but the Warriors would respond with a short handed goal to tie it up and then get the go ahead goal.
Stratford battled hard and their goalie made several key saves to keep the Warriors in the game. Brantford would tie it up in the third and then the get the go ahead goal. Stratford did not let up and kept driving the net which led to Stratford charging the puck past Brantford’s goalie in the dying seconds of the game only to have the waved off by an interesting penalty call against Stratford. Despite their great play, Stratford fell to Brantford 3-2. Scoring for Stratford was; Ben Fizell and Colin Schultz (AP from major Pee Wee) with assists going to Jackson Campbell.
On Sunday Dec 8th the Warriors visited the Waterloo Wolves at RIM Park for yet another fast paced game. The Warriors battled hard ending the first period 0-0, the second period found the Warriors trailing 4-1 but would rally back in the third and keep the Waterloo net minder extremely busy. Game would end 4-3 for the Wolves. Scoring for Stratford was; Dylan Fischer with a hat trick and assists going to Mark Pyzowski (2), Beckham McCleod, Quinn Appel, Kaleb Martin and Brett Knechtel.
Next action for the Warriors is on Tuesday Dec 10th when Stratford hosts the Kitchener Rangers at the Duff.
