Weekly Update by Colin Humphrey
On Saturday afternoon the Minor Bantam Warriors hosted the Burlington Jr Cougars (white) at the Allman arena.  The Warriors came out guns blazing and immediately applied pressure to the Jr Cougars, maybe too much pressure as the Warriors seem to spend a great deal of time in the penalty box.

Mark Pyzowski started the scoring while on the PK, racing to the net for a short-handed goal.  The next goal would also come from Pyzowski who tipped in Cole Humphrey’s shot.  Ben Fizell and Dylan Fischer would each grind their way to the net to make the score 4-0.  While short-handed again Fischer was in perfect position to receive a no look pass from Burlington’s goal tender and shot on the open net to take a 5-0 victory. Goalie Koen Gerber was fantastic between the pipes earning his first shut out of the season.  Assists on goals were Cole Humphrey (2), Jackson Campbell, Nathan Gibb and Nate Framst.

Sunday evening at the Duff, Stratford hosted the Sarnia Sting.  A physical game found the Warriors and Sting battling back and forth and end the first period down 2 goals.  In the second period Beckham McLeod grabbed a pass and took off for the net on a break away and sniped one by the Sarnia tender to make it a 1 goal game.  Sarnia would respond with a goal but Stratford answered back, a sequence from Jackson Campbell to Cole Humphrey to Mark Pyzowski to the back of the net brought it back to a one goal game again.  For the rest of the game Stratford put big pressure on the Sarnia goalie but couldn’t get anything by him and would end the match in 5-2 loss.
