Warriors Game Results
The Stratford Minor Midget Warriors, sponsored by Stratford Motor Products, played three games in the past 5 nights and earned one win and two losses.

On Saturday, the Warriors were on the road to face the Hamilton Huskies for the first time this season. The Warriors scored early and often and came out on top with a convincing 5-1 victory. Goalie Russel Sebben earned the victory and had a shutout going into the final minutes of the game, before the Huskies converted a turnover behind the Warriors’ net and quickly netted their lone tally. Aubrey Carter paced the goal scoring with his first two goals of the season, while Jonas Schmidt and Cole Lewis each added a goal and two assists. Jacob Hall scored the other goal for the Warriors off a very nice goal mouth feed from blueliner Issac Deline. Anthony Guzvinec picked up an assist in the game as well to round out the scoresheet.

On Sunday, the Warriors were back on the road again, this time to face the Waterloo Wolves. This time, the Wolves jumped out early by taking a 3-0 lead by the end of the first period. The Wolves and Warriors each added one goal the rest of the way, with Hall scoring from Nole Musselman and Jonas Schmidt.

Back at the William Allman on Wednesday night, the Warriors hosted the Woodstock Jr Navy Vets. After a scoreless opening period, Schmidt scored to put the Warriors ahead just twenty-five seconds into the middle frame. The Jr. Navy Vets went on to take a 2-1 lead, with Zach McCann finishing a nice play to knot the game at 2-2 midway through the period, before the Jr Navy Vets added two more markers. The Warriors had several opportunities in the final frame, including what appeared to be a goal with just over 5 minutes to go but it was waved off and the final score ended in a 4-2 victory for the Jr Navy Vets. Lewis assisted on both Warriors goals and Schmidt added an assist off McCann’s goal.

Notes: The Warriors record sits at 4-5-2 overall and 1-5-0 in regular season play; they will try to pick up two wins this weekend when they travel to face the London Jr Mustangs White on Saturday before returning to the Allman for a rematch against last year’s OHF Championship Final opponent, the St. Thomas Jr Stars. Game time on Sunday is at 4:30pm at the William Allman.
