Written by Maureen Whitehead. The Stratford Jr Warriors Midget team hosted Kitchener on
Wednesday night and came out with a point, tying the Jr Rangers 3-3.
The Warriors got on the board first, when Caleb Musselman potted his first of two, assisted by Jack Whitehead and Caelan Trupp. After a scoreless 2nd period, Musselman got his second of the game early in the 3rd when he put in a rebound off an Aiden McMann point shot. Luke Gaylor also assisted on the goal. Kitchener cut the lead in half midway through the 3rd period but Stratford took another two goal lead when Jared LeSouder carried the puck from the Stratford blue line and beat the Kitchener tender. Patrick Holloway and Whitehead assisted. Kitchener scored less than two minutes later to get within one, then with a minute and a half left in the game, playing 4-on-4, the visitors tied the game. Carson Knott made several good saves in net to preserve the tie.
The Warriors head to Sarnia this weekend for the Midget AA International Silver Stick finals.
