Semi Finals update
Written by Maureen Whitehead.  The Stratford Jr Warriors Midget suffered their first league loss on Sunday after winning on Saturday and coming within a tie or win to advance to the playoff finals.

On Saturday night in Stratford, Tate Gaylor carried the puck into the Waterloo zone on the power play and fought off two defenders to get the puck back to Callan Ferguson who opened the scoring for Stratford.  Patrick Holloway also assisted on the goal.  Despite steady offensive pressure by the Wolves in the first frame, goalie Kyle Powers kept them off the scoreboard with several timely saves.  Holloway got the eventual game winner in the 2nd period, assisted by Jared LeSouder. Waterloo cut the lead in half with a power play goal halfway through the 3rd period but couldn’t find the equalizer.

On Sunday in Waterloo, the Wolves struck first with 8 minutes left in the first.  Ferguson tied it up in the 2nd period, assisted by Luke Gaylor and Holloway.  Goalie Carson Knott was solid between the pipes but Waterloo never let up, refusing to go down on their home ice.  With 2 and a half minutes left in the game, on the power play, the Wolves scored the game winner, forcing a game 5.  The Warriors lead the series 5 points to 3.  Game 5 will be played Tuesday night in Stratford at 7:45pm.
