The Holloway Auto Parts U10 Rep Team played against the Woodstock Navy Vets Sunday on the Molson Pad for a 12:45P.M puck drop.

Buzzer went, whistle blew, puck dropped, and the Warriors were on the attack! The first shift, pushed Woodstock deep in their end, holding them in, putting the offensive pressure on. The second shift took over adding pressure on the boards and grit behind the net. The third shift, jumped in adding some speed and shots from the point. Woodstock was caught in their end facing a healthy number of shots. They were able to weather the storm of the U10’s for majority of the first period until 40 seconds left, when Owen Hurley caught a rebound from the defensive end and was given a clear pathway down the left side, throwing one over the goaltenders’ shoulder to put the boys on the board. Starting back up at center, Hurley carried the puck from the faceoff, went threw the defencemen, goalie dropped, and he tucked in the second goal, ending the first. Winger Andrew Hodgins had a great period, playing two-way hockey, using whatever means necessary to stop shots from getting by. With Woodstock beginning to get frustrated, the second period, the game swayed to the physical side, winger Tyler Peck stepped right in, protecting his teammates, making his presence known amongst the Vets, using his strength to work the boards. Defencemen Marcus Atkinson cleared a puck up the boards, Joseph Moss grabbed it from the blue line, lined a shot up top left corner to make it 3-0. Woodstock’s #88 tried coming in hot ending the period and was stopped by defencemen, Brayden Keating sacrificing his body to block the shot. AP Winger Drake Holke had a good period, keeping speed on the wing and backchecking for the Warriors. The third period Mason Bye had his jets on, snipping a shot from the top of the circle to make it 4-0. Shortly after the Vets snuck one past to give them 1. Bye turned it up next shift, wheeling through the centre, took a shot, caught his own rebound wrapping in the fifth goal for the Warriors. The Vets snuck their second in, ending the game to make it a final 5-2.

BIG THANKYOU to the U10 Team Mascot - Emmett Bye, for helping energize the boys before each game, with his big smile, fist pumps and Warrior attire !!
