HAPPY MARCH BREAK
Everywhere we go     (Everywhere we go)
People always ask us    (People always ask us)
Who we are     (Who we are)
So we tell them   (So we tell them)
We are the WARRIORS    (We are the WARRIORS)
The mighty, mighty WARRIORS
(The mighty, mighty, WARRIORS)
And if they can’t hear us
(And if they can’t hear us)
WE SING A LITTLE LOUDER !!!!

The Holloway Auto Parts U10 Rep Team have been holding their top seeded position, the past 10 games, in their AA Playoff Division with an 8-1-1 record and only two games remaining.

Thursday, March 10th the boys had an unusual weekday game against the London Jr Knights White at Western Fair. From what I was told it was an exciting game, the team worked hard on the back end, goaltender Sawyer Verspeeten played “a heck of a game” , to keep the boys ahead and walk away with a 5-2 victory. Scoring for the Warriors was Owen Hurley (3), Joseph Moss (1), Tyler Peck (1) with Mason Bye and Brayden Keating each picking up an assist.

Sunday, March 13th the team faced off against the Burlington Raiders for a 1:30P.M puck drop at Allman Arena. With Joey Bitzer coming back from a few weeks injury, the squad was back together to knock sticks against the Raiders. The first period there was lots of board battles and back-forth skates, with each team being pinned in their own end on various occasions, neither side able to maximize on any offensive opportunities. Nash Zacher got the call to net, keeping a calm composure, covering his area in blue, working the posts and stopping wrap around chances. Burlington did hit the mesh first with a screened shot from the hash marks early in the second. This goal was answered two minutes later. Peck shot a puck from the draw backwards to Moss, doing a quick spin around, releasing a wrist shot top corner stick side to tie the game up at 1’s. The remaining minutes of the period both teams kept the rushes down the boards, with both goalies robbing players of any points. The third period picked up a bit more speed, Coleton Schmidt grabbed a puck from a chip up the boards, skated in sniping a shot from the red circle high glove side to give the Warriors the lead. Following the goal, Raiders had the Warriors stuck in their end cycling the puck, releasing a shot and with Zacher on the ground, they tried to sneak in a wrap around but were stopped by his goaltending dive across the crease to cover the post and keep the boys ahead. After this play the energy in the arena seemed to increase and the last 10:00minutes of play were quick with both teams releasing multiple shots, breakaways being robbed, good corner battles, blue line hustles, turnovers, making the Raiders a little shaky, calling a timeout with 1:15left in the game. Burlington in a last-minute attempt to tie the game up, pulled their goalie but couldn’t push past the Warriors ending the game with a 2-1 victory.
