Shutout For Keating!
Stratford U13 Warriors, sponsored by Scotiabank Stratford, played strong against the Waterloo Wolves at Rim Park, on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

Between the posts for the Hallowe’en matchup was #1 Carter Keating. Cadon Ollson, started the game strong, carrying the puck down to the Waterloo net. Hudson Gole, showed speed in his returns from defence. Keating, blocked a wrap-around try from Waterloo. Nate Van Bakel, took a shot from the zone. Cam Monroe, fended off a breakaway at the 5:21 mark. The score was still 0-0. The period finished off with Owen Blackburn, taking a nice shot from the point and Griffin Harvey, grinding along the boards. Jack Bannon, worked hard to continuously clear the puck out of the Stratford end. The score remained 0-0 at the end of the first period.

Graedon Smith, won the face-off to start off the second period. Blackburn, stopped a breakaway. Stratford got their first penalty at 9:42 but were able to kill off the penalty. At 8:15, Keating, battled in net to fight off a goal during a tussle in front of the net. Denver Mason, took a few nice shots at the net, but came up short. During the third period, Munroe, kept the puck out of the Stratford end. Jake Schultz, dug out the puck from the corners. Munroe, finished the period with a nice buzzer shot on the Waterloo net. Both teams displayed an even hustle in the ice. The score at the end of the second period was still 0-0.

In the third, Griffin Harvey, took a slap shot from the blue line. At 13:46 Stratford was in the box. Mason, tried a wrap-around, but it got stuck at the line. Evan Hughes. made a nice steal of the puck on a Waterloo breakaway. At 5:23, Keating, made a great toe save. The third period was full of back and forth action, end to end. Forward passes made by Reid Morris, Will Pepper and Nick McClymont kept the puck moving. At 1:17 Keating, stifled another try from Waterloo. The score remained at 0:0 at the buzzer, earning a shutout for Keating!

The next game action takes place next weekend, at the Silver Stick Regional Tournament , held in Stratford and area. They are scheduled to play North Toronto, The Scarborough Ice Raiders, and The Mississauga Terriers. Good luck Warriors U13 at Silver Stick!
