WELCOME TO THE U11's 2022-2023 SEASON
IT'S A GREAT DAY FOR HOCKEY

The U11 Team started their season off yesterday on the road vs. Burlington Red.

Puck dropped at 2:00P.M, the Warriors tender Nash Zacher stole the first shot of the game from Burlington, with a big reach poke to get the game rolling. There were a few rushes, scrambles, bumping and hard backchecking that lead to the first PK for the boys. The boys kept their line changes quick allowing them to keep control of the puck in the O zone for the full two minutes. Jaxon Hallock with a defensive pinch on the left side, poking the puck ahead to Owen Hurley. One quick swoop, the puck was on his stick, and he was off, skating head on to the tender, shooting low glove side, where linemate Joey Bitzer was on the doorstep ready to tap in the rebound to make it 1-0. With the wheels in motion, shortly after Hurley snagged a puck at the blue line, split the D and cleared a back handed shot top left corner, making it 2-0. Defencemen Brayden Keating blocked a shot late in the period to keep the Burlington Red off the board.

Second period, wheels kept rolling, Hurley picking a puck up off the boards, making a quick redirection skating head on shot low glove side, 3-0. It wouldn’t be a third period for this team if they didn’t find another gear to turn up and flood the period with goals. Right defencemen Marcus Atkinson took a shot from the point, bouncing out for Hurley to tap in, 4-0. Two shifts later, defencemen Miles Marshall shot one in from the point that new team member Gavin Terpstra redirected in, 5-0. With a mad scramble in front of the net, sticks swinging, bodies bumping around, Mason Bye found the disc, netting the sixth goal. Next draw, linemates Hurley, Bitzer and Tyler Peck sped past Burlington on a 3v0 with Hurley tucking in the seventh goal. Seconds later Hurley, piggy backed with the eighth goal. Ending the period Nate Micks with the hard backcheck, quick turn, headed on a breakaway, hitting the mesh with a shot low glove side, 9-0. The clock was winding down and Burlington was on the push to light the board up, with 33 seconds left in the game they found a clear path and headed on a breakaway. Goaltender Zacher stood out with the big glove save, holding the shutout for the Warriors !
