The U15 Stratford Warriors sponsored by Fore Everyone Golf wrapped up a string of home games adding two more wins to their season.
On October 9th, the Warriors hosted last season rivals, the Brantford 99ers. Cole Hishon opened the scoring late in the first period, assisted by Tim Kraayenbrink and Owen Bridges. Brantford added a pair of goals in the second period. Cam Parsons answered right back with a snipe from the blue line to end the period tied 2-2.
Stratford dominated 99ers in the third period, adding 4 more unanswered goals to the game sheet. Goal scorers were Colten Brenzil (2), Cole Hishon and Tim Kraayenbrink. Assists go to Owen Chambers (2), Rylan Deboeck and Casen deGraaf. Stratford added two points with a 6-2 win bringing their regular season to 2-1-0.
On October 16th, the Warriors faced off against the GLHA Jr Mustangs White. The Mustangs got on the board early with a tip past the Stratford net minder. Stratford answered back by dominating the rest of the first period scoring 4 quick goals. Scorers were Colten Brenzil, unassisted; Ty Wheeler, assisted by Brenzil; Tim Kraayenbrink, assisted by Cole Hishon and Owen Bridges; and Bridges, assisted by Kraayenbrink and Hishon. The Mustangs closed out the first period adding one more, with Stratford on top 4-2. The second period saw end to end action on both sides, with penalties piling up for both teams. Bridges added his second of the game, unassisted. The Mustangs were able to close the gap adding two more goals by the close of the second period, ending 5-4 in favour of Stratford.
The Mustangs were able to tie it up 5-5 midway through the third period. Stratford caught a break and Bridges completed his first hat trick of the season on a power play, assisted by Kraayenbrink and Alex Everett. Brenzil was able to net one more to secure the 7-5 win for the Warriors.
