Stormy weather outside and inside the RBC rink on Friday night as the team fell 4-0 to a determined Waterloo Wolves. Goaltender Spencer Lazarevich turned aside 36 shots over a very busy three periods.
On Sunday at the Allman, the Warriors rebounded with a strong game, beating the London Bandits 4-0. Austin Taylor opened the scoring in the first, busting in on a breakaway after a nice feed from Calvin MCorkindale and beating the Bandits goalie. Dylan Hall drew the other assist. With .3 seconds left in the period Everett Hawkins shoveled home a loose puck in the crease to put the Warriors up 2-0 after the first. Assisting was David Shantz and Jared Searles. After a scoreless second, the Warriors struck twice in the third. Dylan Hall buried his second of the season, unassisted. Zach Dow finished the scoring late in the third with a booming slapshot from just inside the circle. Assists went to Hayden Arms and Charlie Rankin. Warrior goalie Liam McCann was solid in net posting his first shutout of the season.
The Warriors travel to Kitchener to take on the Rangers for their first away game Friday night.
