Silver Stick AA Tournament
The Stratford Canadian Tire Major Bantam Warriors came up with three solid efforts but failed to advance past the round robin in the Stratford International Silver Stick AA Regional Qualifier Tournament over the Christmas holidays.
The Warriors, rated as an A level team, lost the first game of the tournament to the Woolwich Wildcats 1-0, despite outplaying them. In game two, Stratford gave themselves an opportunity to move further on in the tourney, by beating the Waterloo Wolves 2-0. It is the second time this season the Warriors have downed the highly ranked AA Waterloo squad, both times on the stellar goaltending efforts of Bobby McLachlan. Caelen Eveleigh and Ethan Scrimgeour scored the Stratford goals, with assists going to Josh Smith, Hayden Arms and Everett Hawkins.
A win against St. Catharines assured Stratford a semi final berth, but they fell short, and were beaten by the Falcons 3-0., dashing their hopes of moving on.
