First Tournament For Novice East Warriors an Internal Success!
The Rheo Thompson Novice Tier 3 East Warriors competed with heart at their 1st competitive tournament as a team. Although the boys dropped all 3 games in the tournament it was their best play as a team so far this year!

The first game for the boys was Friday night where they faced the host Oakridge Aeros, losing the 1st period by a score of 4-0. Things consistently improved from there for the Warriors.
They were able to hold the Aeros to only a single goal in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Collectively the boys came together and proved they had tons of fight in them. Jake Taylor made many good saves for the Warriors. The Warriors 3 stars for the game were Maddyx Chaput, Owen Vangestal and Charilie Holloway.

The next game for the boys was on Saturday afternoon where they faced the West Division Leaders, West London 3A. They were pumped up and ready to go. The game went scoreless for the first half of the 1st period, until the Hawks finally put a few past Taylor who made some stellar saves. Liam Benton had a great attempt for the Warriors on a breakaway but was denied after entering the London defencive zone. Maddyx Chaput answered back for the Warriors with a pass from Mason Bauld to send him flying out of the Warriors end beating the Hawks goal tender with a smooth deke. Some great defensive efforts were shown by Will McKee stopping a sure goal , while Nash McIlroy, Henry Flanagan, Owen Vangestal, and Charlie Holloway held the Hawks to a mere 2-0 win in the second period with some great defensive play. The 3 stars of the game for the Warriors were Nash McIlroy, Jake Taylor and Henry Flanagan was the 1st star.

The final game of the tournament was later on Saturday evening where the Rheo Thompson Warriors once again faced the Oakridge Aeros. The first period did not go as planned for the Warriors where they lost the period 3-0, but again proved they would not give up. Mason Bauld, Blake McIntosh and Hudsyn Chaput played with keen intensity but could not slip one past the Aeros goalie. Rem Hruden, Finley Newton and Liam Benton were relentless along the boards, while Andrew Davis and Ethan Priestap had some great forchecking coming out with the puck more times than not. Although the 2nd and 3rd periods proved to be the best for the Warrriors they were not able to come up on top allowing Oakridge score 3 more goals to win by a score of 6-0.

The next action for the East Warriors will see them travel to London and Brantford this weekend.
