All Equip Weekend Update
Title - Dec 17th and 18th Weekend This past Saturday the Minor Peewee MD Warriors traveled to London for their only meeting with the North London Nationals of the season. The back and forth battle saw the two teams trading goals throughout the game with the Warriors just not able to get the edge on London.
Stratford took full advantage of power play opportunities and went aggressively after the puck and maintaining control in the offensive zone resulting in a power play goal to even things up late in the game, but the final marker went to London to take the game 5-4. Great offensive effort by the team. On Sunday the Warriors hosted the Brantford 99ers at the Allman Arena in the last game of the regular season. The boys were able to have a great game experience using the Stratford Warriors GOJHL team dressing room and workout space for warm ups. The boys once again came out strong with lots of scoring opportunities, but unfortunately were not able to beat the Brantford goalie. Stratford goalie Liam Parsons was able to keep the Warriors within one goal throughout the game, but as Stratford pulled the keeper late in the game to get the equalizer the 99ers capitalized on the empty net twice leading to a 3-0 final. Overall the boys level of compete has progressed well through the first half of the season and have been able to create more offence to allow us to take a few games and keep others close. This bodes well for the upcoming Brantford tournament and the playoffs which kick off in early January.
