Minor Peewee MD Warriors had a good showing at the West London Hockey tournament in London Jan 27 & 28
The All Equip Minor Peewee MD team travelled to London to participate in the West London/Byron tournament.  The boys had a strong showing with their play and were able to play some strong hockey.  Stratford started the tournament against North London Nationals.

The Warriors were able to match shot for shot against the Nationals and were able to get on the board first with a goal from Cole Iacobellis assisted by Bruce Munro.  Liam Parsons made many great glove saves throughout the game keeping Stratford in the game and picked up the win.   Stratford headed into the third period up by a goal thanks to the overall great digging and hustle by the entire team.  All forwards worked hard to record a high number of shots throughout the game and it wasn’t until the third period that another goal was scored.  Iacobellis scored again off a great pass and rebound by Zachary Richardson and Munro.  Stratford won 2-0 to start the tournament off on a winning note.   Ryan Middegaal, Tyson Talsma, and Logan Lott provided strong defensive play to help Parsons.  Liam Parsons picked up player of the game.  Stratford then took on the Hamilton Huskies Red in their second game.  Again Stratford matched the Huskies shot for shot throughout the first and second period.  Many shots were thrown at Matthew Reed who was able to keep Stratford in the game for the first two periods.  Stratford got on the board in the second period with a shot from Richardson with the rebound going to Iacobellis who found the back of the net.  Stratford went into the third period down by a goal and looking strong, however, the third period saw something change with the Warriors who lost their momentum.  Stratford lost 8-1.

On Jan 28 the All Equip Stratford Minor Peewee MD finished with games against the Oakridge Aeros and the West London Hawks. In the Oakridge match, Stratford fought hard with some offensive bursts and some strong defensive shifts aided by Liam Parson’s quick glove hand. Liam Hill knotted a pair for Stratford with Ryan Middegaal pumping in the third. Final score Oakridge 8 Stratford 3. In game number 2, Stratford received a strong performance in net by Matt Reed keeping Strafford in the contest for a good portion of the game. Ultimately, West London was able to exploit some defensive lapses and capitalize. Final score West London 5 Stratford 0
