Peewees on Winning Streak
Scotia Bank Stratford Peewee Warriors went on the road to face London Mustangs Purple on Saturday, winning 4-3. Jacob Hall struck first from Cole Lewis and Zach McCann,then Lewis from Hall and McCann. Ethan Scrimgeour scored the third goal from Tanner Meinen and Chadd Langlands made it 4-0 (which was the eventual winner) from Kaleb Schalk and Matthew Barber. The Mustangs down 4-0 going into the third fought back hard to get within 1, but Russel Sebben shut the door to seal the win.
Sunday at home the Warriors handily defeated the Sarnia Sting 5-1. Chadd Langlands opened the scoring, intercepting a Sting pass and scoring unassisted. Langlands then made a pass back to Tanner Meinen who made it 2-0. Jacob Hall put the Warriors up 3-0 from a sweet back hand pass from behind the net by Cole Lewis,then Lewis again setting up Zach McCann in front of the net. Jacob Hall scored his second of the game, putting the game out of reach for the Sting, with Connor McIntosh assisting. James Cormier-Hazen eventually gave up one late in the third but was solid all night for his team.
