Final Game of the Season a Big W for Warriors! - By Erin Heisz
The Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep Warriors wanted to end the season with a win and they did just that beating the Kitchener Rangers 3-2 on Saturday evening at the RBC!

Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep Stratford Warriors vs Kitchener Rangers Blue

The Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep Warriors were hoping to continue their hot streak against the Kitchener Rangers Blue Saturday evening at the RBC arena. The boys put fierce pressure on Kitchener right from the clock start. Owen Holloway made a killer pass to Ayden Hakkers who shot it in off the goalie’s blocker into the back of the net! Kaeden Brame picked up an assist on the goal too. Ethan Pearce made a rush down the ice and shot on net. Ryan Middegaal hustled to break up a Kitchener play on defence. Kiefer MacNeil made his first save of the game. Jared Gould shot and the puck was creeping back past the goal line but a Rangers defence man scooped it away. Rangers got a goal to make it 1-1. Luke Zorgdrager fired a shot from the point on net. Kitchener put the pressure on us and MacNeil made multiple saves. Warriors got a penalty with 16.9 seconds left in the period.

Starting off shorthanded we saw a great penalty kill from Cole Meadows, Jake Heinbuch, Wes Duiker and Middegaal - they were stuck in our end for 1:44 but no good shots were fired on net! Luke Heisz was making outlet passes look easy as he moved the puck out of our zone.
MacNeil kept us in a tie game with repeated saves. Holloway got the puck to Brame who sent it to Hakkers. Hakkers’ silky mitts landed us another goal! Warriors got another penalty and killed it with ease. Gould was making passes in front of the net then shot one on that the goalie baubled but eventually tamed down and kept out. Sam Jeffrey shot hard from the blue line and in a flurry of rebounds we saw Duiker not once, but twice shoot the rebounds on net and third time is a charm Hakkers sent it in for a hat trick!

Leading 3-1, the Warriors had to play tight defence to win this. The Rangers were not making this easy with tons of offensive pressure being poured on Stratford. MacNeil made multiple saves and mid period the tide shifted and we moved into the Rangers end. Danny Van Straaten and Zach Richardson were getting shots fired off on net. The Rangers got a penalty and those 2 minutes seemed to go on forever as the Warriors got a shot off of every face-off play about 10 times in a row! The puck finally moved down into our zone only to be called icing and another whistle. Rangers pulled their goalie in the last minute and things got tense as they tried to get the timing goal. Meadows sent it flying down and just missed an empty netter from the red line and the game was done! A win for the final game of the season!!
