Five Point Weekend for Minor Peewee Rep Warriors
The ‘07 Minor Peewee Rep team, sponsored by Royal LePage Hiller Realty had a busy weekend with three games on the schedule.

Friday night the boys took the yellow rocket to Waterloo to take on the Wolves.  It wasn’t until the second period when Waterloo slid one past Zack Irvin to take a 1-0 lead.  Both teams battled hard with Zack Schultz and Austin Musselman pushing hard on the back check. Irvin held off the Waterloo attack and Stratford was able to tie it with 20 seconds left off a shot from Carter Petrie, assisted by Aaron Green and Ryan Ganselves.  Special shout out to Cole Hishon and Colten Brenzil for helping out the short staffed Warriors.

Saturday night the Warriors hosted the Sarnia Jr. Sting for the second time in a week.  With Stratford looking to avenge the loss last Saturday the offence went to work early in the game taking a 3-0 lead.  Nathan Siebert opened the scoring with a tenacious shot from his knees, assisted by Colin Schultz and call up Spencer Murphy.  C. Schultz nabbed a power play goal, assisted by Petrie and Blair Stokes and Gansevles fired one in, assisted by C.Schultz and Jaxson Beirnes.  But Sarnia battled back to make it 3-2 in the third. Netminder Ryan McGill was on fire holding off the relentless Sarnia snipers and constant commotion in front of his cage.  Stratford managed to get some breathing room at the 2 minute mark when Rylan Hall fired one up the ice to Petrie who scored on the breakaway. The short staffed Warriors appreciated the help from call ups Dylan Abel and Murphy.

Football fans would have to wait for one more hockey game on Sunday night against the London Jr Knights White.  Irvin got the call between the pipes and was outstanding coming up with huge toe saves at key moments throughout the game. He held London to one, with the help of Blake Hodgson, Green and Grady Murphy.  A huge third period from the Stratford offense saw C.Schultz net one, assisted by Stokes and Petrie. Stokes nabbed one of his own, unassisted and Siebert slid one in, assisted by Petrie. Still short handed, the boys appreciated the help of call up Charlie Holloway.
