Written by Dave Graff. The SMHA Stratford Motor Products Minor Midget rep
team fired over 35 shots at the Navy Vet goal for the second time this season
beating the visitors from Woodstock 3-1 in Alliance AA/A regular season action
on Saturday at the rec centre.
Patrick Holloway netted two opening period beauties to offset one by the visitors giving the Warriors a 2-1 lead after one. An Owen Singer power play marker in the second period set the stage for a scoreless third period and essentially sealed the Stratford victory. Ryan Adriaanse helped setup both of Holloway’s tallies while Singer, Will Schlotzhauer, Jack Whitehead and Aiden McMann chipped in with one assist each.
Stratford sits two points behind third place Kitchener going into action this coming weekend and hold two games in hand on the Rangers. With three games left in the regular season the Warriors could still finish anywhere from third to sixth place on the AA side of the loop.
