Good Start to the Season
The Perth Auto Dismantlers Major Atoms opened their season on the road last week-end. The team played their first game in Brantford and fell short 7-6. Isaac Nickel had a pair of goals, while Gabe Emms scored on a penalty shot and Nathaniel Smith potted one on a breakaway. Also scoring for Stratford were Quinn Appel and Ryan Haines. Assists were earned by Sam Pepper, Emms, and Haines.
On Sunday the team travelled to Woodstock where they tied 3-3. The boys were off to a quick start with Haines opening the scoring assisted by Emms. Mark Pyzowski scored the second goal assisted by Colten Kuepfer and Smith. Nickel scored the tying goal with 21 seconds left in the game with assists going to Haines and Pyzowski.

This past week-end the team played two home games. They hosted London White on Warrior Day and again were off to a quick start, this time earning their first win of the season, 8-4. Pepper scored the first two goals with Pyzowski assisting on both. Appel scored next assisted by Brett Knechtel. Pyzowski scored three of the next four Stratford goals and Nickel rounded out the scoring with two. Assists were earned by Nathan Gibb, Smith, Pepper, Appel, and Haines. Jesse Merkel earned the win in net.

On Sunday the boys won their second game of the season, beating Hamilton 4-3. Pyzowski opened the scoring from Pepper and Smith. Haines put the team ahead 2-0, followed by Nickel. Both goals were unassisted. Nickel potted his second of the game, on a power play, with 0.1 seconds remaining in the game. Koen Gerber earned the win in net.

The team now sits at 2-1-1.
