Minor Peewee's Win Alliance AA Championship!
Submitted By Matthew Smyth on Monday, March 18, 2019
The ‘07 Minor Peewee Rep team, sponsored by Royal LePage Hiller Realty battled hard to sweep the Alliance AA Championship against the London Jr. Knights White.

Saturday afternoon the boys travelled to London for game three against the Knights. Up four  points in the eight point series the boys were looking to earn another win and they knew London would not make it easy.    Yet again it was a battle from end to end. Goalie Zack Irvin was tested early between the pipes and stood strong, making an epic glove save with 1:06 left in the first period.  London fought hard in the second with Stratford struggling to get things going and Irvin making save after save. Finally in the third period the Warriors found the back of the net with the game winning goal going from Grady Murphy, assisted by Ryan Gansevles and Carter Petrie.

With Stratford looking to close out the championship series game four went Sunday afternoon on home ice. Ryan McGill got the call in net and was rock solid through three periods.  After a scoreless first period, Zach Schultz put the Warriors on the board with a rocket from the point, assisted by Carter Petrie. Moments later, Blair Stokes fired one in, assisted by Ryan McGee and Rylan Hall to double the lead.  London battled back in the second but big saves from McGill, coupled with strong defence from Aaron Green and Austin Musselman kept their snipers at bay. In the third period the Warriors continued to press, with Petrie feeding Ryan Gansevles the puck for a shorthanded goal.  Grady Murphy added a single marker, assisted by McGill. Despite some last minute pressure the Warriors held off the Knights for a final score of 4-0!

Congratulations to all the boys for finishing the season with an outstanding 51-7-11 record!
