Sobeys donates $2,500 SMHA
Canada Bread and Sobeys are currently participating in the Sidney Crosby Promotion, which is currently running from September 30 to November 10th.

This past Saturday at the Stratford Sobeys store, at 30 Queensland Road, a cheque for $2,500 was presented to Stratford Minor Hockey Association, on behalf of Canada Bread and Sobeys. Representing the local Sobeys store in the presentation were store manager Al Juett and bakery manager Ron Bell. Accepting the cheque on behalf of the
SMHA was director Adam Mair, chair of fundraising for the association.

"Sobeys is showing good faith in the youth in our community, we really appreciate this donation," Mair told Juett and Bell following the presentation. As Chairman of Fundraising for the Stratford Minor Hockey Association, I congratulate Canada Bread and Sobey’s for their donation of $2500.00 towards Stratford Minor Hockey.

These are what I like to call “Smart Dollars” because when you invest in the youth of the community today,
it builds character in our young people who then become productive citizens tomorrow.

The Holloway Minor Atom 'A' Warriors, meanwhile, hosted a barbecue in front of the Stratford store Saturday, with products provided by Sobeys, Canada Bread, and Maple Leaf Foods. There was also a raffle table for Sidney Crosby hockey prizes and a hockey shooting game.

Twelve Sobeys store in Ontario are making donations to minor hockey associations in their communities.
