Minor Peewee's Win Gold at Alliance MD Championships
The Stratford Nes-Tech Minor Peewee MD Warriors blanked the Hamilton Cylones 1-0 to win the Minor Peewee MD Alliance Tier II championships.

Sean Petrie fired the Warrior lone goal from the slot off a brilliant pass from Brayden Carnegie. One goal would be all that Danny Pacheco and the Warrior defence would need as Pacheco was perfect between the pipes including a game saving stop late in the 3rd period. Sam Wyatt and Joey Cassone blocked shots late in the game in support of the shutout. Jordy Tessmer and Tyler Anderson were strong on the forecheck helping to seal the victory. Stratford opened the tournament with a 2-0 win over the Hamilton Phantoms. Carnegie opened the scoring while Jeremi Carman sealed the win with an empty netter. Pacheco earned the shutout while Liam Taylor and Jacob Taylor were tenacious at the backend. Declan Rintoul and Luke McCarroll generated several opportunities up front. Stratford dropped their only game of the weekend 3-0 to the Hamilton Cyclones. Stratford stayed close throughout the game due to some key saves by Nathan Rison. The Warriors finished pool play with a tough win over league rivals Sarnia. Carnegie tallied all 3 goals in a 3-1 win giving Stratford a bid in the semi final against the Phantoms. Once again Pacheco led the way earning the shutout as Stratford downed the Phantoms 4-0. Carnegie opened the scoring from Tessmer. Nathan Cook doubled the Warrior lead with his first goal of the season from the point. Jared James and Jake Gansevles closed the door on their opponents by rounding out the scoring while Riley Higgins remained poised defensively enroute to a 4-0 win and a rematch with the Cyclones. Goaltender Nathan Rison received the most sportsmanlike honour for the tournament while the entire team can be commended for their discipline and work ethic on this championship weekend.
