Tom Fairbairn Golf Tournament - A Fun Morning
Submitted By Laurie Cossey on Thu 09 13, 12
On September 8th, SMHA held its first annual Tom Fairbairn Golf Classic.

Despite the rain that caught some foresomes on their last hole, a good time was had by all.  Thank you to everyone who participated... SMHA appreciates your support and we hope you enjoyed the golf, the great meal and the camaraderie.

Over $1,000 was raised, half of which will go towards the Junior Program at the Stratford Municipal Golf Course and the other half towards the SMHA Tom Fairbairn Hockey Scholarship to be awarded annually to a SMHA player.

Congratulations to the winning foresome of Steve Nesbitt, Al Vredeveld, Bill Ramadani and Brock Chisholm!

Special thanks to our generous supporters who donated enough prizes so that everyone left with something... AO Smith, Bill Pickering of Coke, Cherrey Bus Lines, Divine Esthetics Day Spa, DJ Jackson Truss Components, Dunny's Source For Sports, Food Basic, Fram, Headquarters Salon, Hishon's Custom Embroidery & Silk-screening, Holloway Automotive Supply Limited, Ideal Supply LTD, IMAC Electrical Inc., Jeff Carr of Molson’s, K&K Racing, Lloyds Electric, Minor Alliance Hockey of Ontario, New Orleans Pizza, Progress Aluminum, Sam Theocharis, Stratford Culliton Hockey Club, STFD Hotel/NA Engineering, Stratford Electric, Stratford Glass and Lock, Stratford Metal, The Parlour/Best Western, Turner Plumbing & Heating, Wilson Art and Zimmer Installation.

Tom Fairbairn was all about community and helping out when and where he could.  The participants and the supporters of this year's golf classic emulated the same attributes and SMHA is pleased to see these traits continuing on in Tom's absence.
