Midgets Tie Oakridge 3-3
The Major Midgets struggled to find their game against a short-staffed Oakridge squad holding on for a 3-3 tie Thursday night at the Rotary Complex.
Stratford opened the scoring in the first with a power-play goal from captain Ty Schooley, who rushed the puck up the ice from his own zone, split the defence, a slid it home. After goals from Jake Near and another from Schooley in the 2nd they took a 3-0 advantage into the 3rd period. With Stratford spending most of the 3rd period playing shorthanded,Oakridge stuck to their game plan and pulled within 1 late in the game. With less than 20 seconds remaining Oakridge managed to bury the tying goal on broken coverage in the Stratford zone. The Midgets travel to North London Friday night to seek redemption, puck drops at 8pm.
