Stratford Tournament Finalists
Stratford Holloway Automotive Minor Atom Warriors fell short in final at Stratford Early Bird Tournament last weekend. 

The Warriors opened the tournament in Friday vs New Hamburg Huskies. The Huskies came out strong and defeated the Warriors 5-3 although the Warriors fought back in the second half. Ethan Bridges scored unassisted, with Ethan Schmidt assisted by Luke Hishon, and Ryder Duchesne from Owen Martin to complete the scoring.

On Saturday morning the Warriors played Woodstock Jr Navy Vets and ended up with a 4-4 tie. Hishon scored from Schmidt and Saunder deGraauw, with Bridges, Schmidt and Caleb Hurley each scoring unassisted.

Saturday afternoon the Warriors played Newmarket Redman. The Warriors came out strong and defeated the Redman 10-4. Schmidt scored 3 and added an assist while Hishon netted 2 and added 2 assists. Bridges scored unassisted and added an assist along with Duchesne on Martins goal. Liam Micks scored unassisted, Colton Campbell scored unassisted and added an assist along with Cohen Bowles on Caleb Hurley’s marker to complete the scoring. deGraauw assisted on one of Schmidt’s goals. Gibson Trotter got the win in net.

Sunday morning Semi Finals the Warriors had a rematch with Woodstock and made a late charge to defeat the Jr Navy Vets 3-2 and move onto the Finals. Campbell scored unassisted early, and Martin scored 2 goals late in the third to complete the comeback. Bridges, Duchesne, Hurley, and Watling had 1 assist each. Mac Munro got the win in net.

In the Finals, the Warriors played 1st place New Hamburg and started off strong with Schmidt scoring from Hishon and deGraauw. New Hamburg built momentum throughout the game and defeated Stratford 5-2, with an empty net goal. Duchesne had the other goal unassisted.

Warriors are back in action on October 5 when they travel to Hamilton and then play host to Brantford on Sunday October 6 - 12:45pm at the Molson rink.
