2025/26 Tryout information, News, U9 (Stratford Minor Hockey Association)

Thank you for your interest in trying out with SMHA!

Tryout Dates:

• Our tryout dates align with OHF & Alliance guidelines. AA Tryouts run in a seven (7) day window from April 26^th to May 2^nd.
• BB tryouts will run in a seven (7) day window from May 3^rd to May 9^th.
• U8MD & U9MD tryouts will occur in the fall. Exact dates TBD.

Freedom of Movement:

• Players are NOT limited to the number of associations they can try out for
• Players from U10 to U18 are NOT required to provide any movement related paperwork (Permission to skate form) in order to register/tryout

General Questions:

• Does a player have to attend AA/A tryouts in order to tryout for BB?
• No! Players can choose to skip AA/A and proceed straight to BB. If a player is released from AA/A and wants to tryout for BB no additional tryout fee will apply.
• Can a player be signed after one tryout?
• Yes! A player can be signed to an association after only one tryout.
• Can a player be released after just one tryout?
• Yes! A player can be released after just one session.
