Minor Atoms Defeat Brantford!
The
Holloway Automotive Warriors hosted the Brantford 99ers on Saturday at the Allman
Arena. In a strong performance from back to front, the Warriors brought their
best, not allowing Brantford on the scoreboard in a convincing 4-0 victory.
Ryan Bell and Hardy Westman combined for the shutout stopping anything that came their way. The defensive core kept the puck out of harm’s way and moved it well up ice, allowing the forwards to go to work. Jared LeSouder got things started late in the first with an unassisted marker. Riley Mathieson was next, assisted by Scott Thornton and Callan Ferguson. Kaden Eybergen struck shortly after on a feed from LeSouder. Mitchell LaFay was then rewarded for attempting to centre a pass, as the puck deflected off a defender’s skate behind the Brantford tender. The third period solved nothing as the Warriors held on for the shutout win.
