Tough Week on the Road
The AJ Jackson Construction Minor Atom MD Warriors had a tough week losing back-to-back road games in London to the top team, London Bandits Black.
On January 14, the Bandits shut out Stratford earning a 5-0 win. Maddox Keller played a strong game in the loss. Returning to London on January 17, the Stratford Warriors bounced back strong opening the game with some excellent offensive pressure. James Koch top shelved an unassisted goal early in the first period to give Stratford the lead. Unfortunately, the Warriors experienced some penalty issues that London capitalized on to take the lead and eventually win the game 5-2. In perhaps their most complete effort of the season, the determined Warriors played with true grit earning them a second goal in the 3rd period scored by Owen Saunders and assisted by Nicholas McCabe. Mitchell Leitch and Jackson Nickel played strong games on defense and Tanner Johns turned in a solid effort on left wing. Brock Barclay made several key saves throughout the game.
