A solid team effort for the second night in a row, led the Stratford Nes-Tech Warriors to a 3-1 win over the North London Nationals Tuesday night in Minor Peewee MD action at the Molson Arena.
Austin Taylor opened the Warrior scoring, out hustling the last defender back for a breakaway goal. Mac Starkebaum and Ryan Lott assisted. Midway throught the second frame, Brett Maguire rifled a hard slap shot from the point, a power play marker, putting Stratford up by two with assists by Taylor and Kobe Robinson.
London put a lot of pressure on Stratford in the last five minutes, but Jarod Flemming stood tall in goal, and was not beaten till 1:07 was left. Fleming was outstanding the entire game, turning aside 24 of 25 shots. Josh Smith put the game away for Stratford with an empty netter, as Stratford improved to 3-1-1 in round robin playoff action.
