A successful playoff run came to an end for the Stratford Nes-Tech Minor Peewee MD Warriors, as they fell 5-2 to the Sarnia Jr. Sting in the West Alliance finals, Tuesday night in Sarnia.  Sarnia, who lost just two games through the entire season, takes the four point series 5-1.

After a scoreless first period, Sarnia scored three quick goals once again, within a four minute and thirty second span.  This proved to be too much for Stratford, who managed to come to within two goals of Sarnia twice, until the Sting scored in the empty net with 1:16 remaining.  Marcus Nicholson scored his third of the series, with the assist going to Josh Smith who also scored for Stratford.  Eric Van Nes picked up an assist on the Smith goal.

Stratford now looks forward to the MD Championship Tournament April 12-14, where the champion and finalist of the West combine with the champion and finalist of the East, in a four team round robin to determin the overall champion for the Minor Peewee MD Alliance division.
