West London - Byron Optimist Cup
Stratford’s Hockey Training Above Tier III Novices played in the West London Byron Optimist Cup this past week-end. On Friday the team lost their first game to Woodstock by a score of 6-0. Playing well for Stratford were Jeremy Dakin-Brown, Daniel Rusen-Steele and Owen Gaylor.
Stratford began Saturday on a positive note by skating to a 3-3 tie with the Vaughn Rangers. Daniel Rusen-Steele opened the scoring assisted by Nathan Gibb. Quinn Appel and Isaac Nickel also scored. Josh Duiker and Jeremy Dakin-Brown provided solid goaltending.
The team then faced the Caledon Hawks and lost 6-2. Andrew Leitch and Ryan Haines provided the goals for Stratford.
