Warriors Play Three in a Row

The Hishons Custom Tier 1 Warriors
played 3 games this past week.
On Wednesday they hosted the first
place London Hawks. Luke Heisz and Jared
Gould joined the team to cover for some illness and vacations. After a scoreless
first period the team fell behind 2 – 0 late in the second. Gould got the team
back into the game with 1:56 remaining in the period. The Hawks scored their
third halfway through the final period. Stratford
pulled their goalie with 2:30 remaining which resulted in a goal by Owen
Holloway, assisted by Jonas Schmidt. Although the team pressed hard for the tie
London got an
empty netter with 20 seconds remaining to make the final 4-2.
On Thursday the team traveled to London to play the Bandits. The team lost 4 to 1 with the lone Stratford goal going to Jack Zehr on a nice setup by Liam Hill.
On Friday the Warriors hosted South Huron in an exhibition match. The team finally had all their players back from illness and showed their passing and skating strength in the first two periods jumping into a 4-0 lead on 2 goals by Jonas Schmidt and one each to Ethan Martin and Daniel Van Straaten. Assists went to Kaden Brame, Wesley Duiker and Jack Zehr. In the third period the team let up on their fore-checking pressure and South Huron scored 3 goals in less than 2 minutes. The final score was 4 to 3 for the Warriors.
