The Stratford Motor Products Minor Midget Warriors travelled
to London to take on the London Jr Mustangs on Sunday.
The game got off to a rocky start with Stratford giving up a 3 goal lead through the first 2 periods. Not much was going right for the Warriors as they discussed trying to get things back on track in the third. The third got off to a strong start as Stratford intensified the forecheck and managed to keep London on their heels. The Warriors were rewarded when Josiah Kraayenbrink drifted a quick shot over the London goalie and into the back of the net. Stratford would draw closer on the power play with under 4 minutes to play when Cal McMann once again beat the London goalie high. With time ticking down and the goalie pulled, the Warriors mounted some serious pressure with Eric Roes sniping the equalizer with just 8 seconds remaining. The third period saw strong performances from several players as the team looked to atone for a weak start. Stratford is back in action this weekend at the Stratford Warrior Early Bird Tournament. - D. Cassone
