Late Goal Sinks Warriors
The Stratford Motor Products Minor Midget Warriors dropped a close
one to Woodstock on Wednesday night in Stratford. Woodstock opened the scoring
in the first and would endure the Stratford attack through most of the game
keeping the score 1-0 until late in the third. The Warriors increased the
pressure as the game wore on and were rewarded with a late goal after Alex
Cassone won a battle at the blue line sending the puck deep where Jared
LeSouder would finally punch home a rebound knotting the score at one.
Woodstock responded with an odd man rush and finish to restore the one goal lead. The score would finish 2-1 after Stratford's desperate attempts to tie the game up with the goalie on the bench. Kari Dingman played a strong game in net giving the Warriors a chance while the Warriors got strong defensive games out of Tate Gaylor and Riley Mathieson. Stratford will look to get things back on track next Wednesday when they host St.Thomas. D. Cassone
