Early Bird Tourney
The major atom Perth Auto Dismantlers participated in the annual Stratford Warriors early bird tournament Sept 28-30
The morning of Sept 28th the Warriors played their first game of the tourney against Riverside. The team started strong and took the play to their opponents not allowing them to leave their own zone for most of the first period. The Warriors continued the strong play the rest of the way and came out with a 4-2 victory.
In the afternoon of the 28th the Dismantlers were matched up against London Mustangs Purple. The Mustangs started strong and got out to a 3-0 lead but the Warriors did not give up and fought back to tie the tilt at 3s in the third period. The Mustangs were up 4-3 with a minute to go when the Warriors pulled their goalie for an extra attacker, the Warriors battled hard and found the back of the net. The game ended in a 4-4 tie.
On Saturday morning the Warriors were matched up against the Brantford 99ers. The Dismantlers started strong and never looked back. After the first two shifts the Warriors were up 2-0. Team team continued the strong play the rest of the way taking a 6-0 win.
Saturday afternoon the Perth Auto Dismantlers were matched up again with the 99ers in the semi finals, unfortunately the outcome was not the same as the morning game. The Warriors ran into a hungry Brantford team with some good goal tending and ended up coming up short with a 3-0 loss.
